Carrying a Legacy Forward
Since its beginning in Columbus, USA in 1992, the GLS conference series has travelled through leading centres of research and technology - Cambridge, Kanazawa, Delft, Melbourne, Vancouver, Strasbourg, New Delhi, Montreal, Braga, Seoul, New York, Brussels, Guilin, Ottawa and most recently Dresden. At each sojourn, the community has shared advances in hydrodynamics, transport phenomena, reactor design, and process intensification. GLS-17 builds on this legacy while opening doors to new areas and emerging applications.
This edition focuses on the evolving role of multiphase reactor science in advancing energy transition, environmental protection and sustainable industrial processing. Participants can expect an engaging programme featuring plenary talks, technical sessions, panel discussions, exhibitions, posters and networking activities.
India and Goa
India today has one of the most active chemical and process engineering ecosystems in Asia. It is home to several national laboratories, leading institutes such as the IITs, IISc, IISERs, and a strong industrial R&D base.
Goa, situated on the western coast of India, offers a distinctive setting for focused scientific exchange. Known for its coastline, heritage architecture, and relaxed rhythm, it provides the right balance of focus and ease for a scientific meeting of this scale. Goa is well connected internationally and has a wide range of accommodation options.
